Katrina Kaif has now officially replaced Aishwarya Rai as the glam-doll of Bollywood. Nakshatra jewelers have now shifted their loyalties from Ash to Katrina. They chose Katrina over other contenders i.e. Kareena Kapoor and Deepika Padukone. Surprisingly she was signed for a much higher price than what Ash got. Guess 24 year-old Katrina Kaif looks more promising than 34 year old Aishwarya Rai.

Back in 1999, Tanuja Chandra's SANGHARSH got Preity Zinta and Akshay Kumar a lot of critical acclaim and helped Akshay shrug off his wooden and non-actor image. Not many will know that it was Rani Mukerjee who was first considered for the role but was unable to do the film for reasons not divulged and the audience could not see the on-screen pairing of Rani and Akki. Around the same time there was a Vikram Bhatt project that once again had the proposed pairing of Akshay and Rani but even that did not materialize.

However, after a series of set-backs in the form of LAAGA CHUNARI MEIN DAAG and THODA PYAAR THODA MAGIC, Rani Mukerjee (once called the Rani of Bollywood) has expressed her desire to work with Akshay Kumar, in the hope of a resurrection of her sagging career. The 'Khiladi' has been the main force behind many a new and successful heroines in Bollywood (read, Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif and Vidya Balan).

For those who don't know, Rani Mukerjee and Twinkle Khanna (Akshay's wife) are good friends in real life. In fact Twinkle has even done the interior decoration for Rani's newly constructed office. The Akki-Twinkle couple meet Rani quite often and Twinkle is more than willing to see the two of them work together.

So, do not be surprised if you see the never before pair of Akki-Rani, in the near future. Any producer listening?

Katrina and Akshay have given hits like Hum Ko Deewana Kar Gaye, Namastey London and Welcome together and make a great pair on screen. And of course, she has been linked to Akshay innumerable times.

“It’s ridiculous! I am tired of repeating the same thing again and again. Akshay and I are just co-stars and we are very good friends. Why is that we are being linked so often? It is nice to work with Akshay. He is a thorough professional. We are looking forward to Singh Is Kinng now. The songs we shot in Egypt have come out exceptionally well. It is going to be a real treat. It is a sleek, well-made film. A typical masala film, which is going to be enjoyed by the audience. I am also doing Blue with him and I have done a lot of underwater action in the film,” says Katrina.

She certainly seems to be all over the place, be it her IPL presence or being voted sexiest woman of the year. “I take success with a pinch of salt and it keeps me grounded. I am concentrating on my work now. I want to do more and more films. Luckily, the audience has accepted me and liked my films. That’s more important to me than anything else,” says Katrina, who is excited about working with Ranbir Kapoor and John Abraham soon.

“It’s going to be exciting to work with Ranbir in Raj Kumar Santoshi’s film because this is the first time I will be working with someone of my age. I am also looking forward to working with John and Neil Nitin Mukesh in Yash Raj Films soon,” says the actress, who’s working with all the hunks in Bollywood, be it Salman, John, Akshay or Ranbir.
