Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt and his long-time girlfriend Manyata on Monday solemnised their marriage as per Hindu rituals at a simple ceremony, four days after their secret court wedding in Goa.

Ending all speculation, Dutt (48) and Manyata Dilnasheen Amir Ahmed Sheikh (32) exchanged their nuptial vows at the bride's residence at suburban Versova.

The formal wedding was attended by close friends. However, Dutt's family members, including sisters Priya Dutt and Namrata Gaurav, were conspicuous by their absence.

After the marriage, a beaming Dutt, wearing a golden hued kurta-pyjama with a red embroidered 'chunri,' said he was very happy and thanked all his fans.

Lobbing a question at the media, Dutt asked: "Are you happy with my marriage?" On getting an affirmative reply, he thanked them and said, "I am also very happy and I thank you for the positive support."

Manyata, who appeared overwhelmed by the occasion, said, "I am so happy that I don't have words to express."

Manyata looked every inch a typical Indian bride with her forehead and her hair parting full of sindoor.

Asked about his daughter Trishala's reaction, Dutt paused and said, "She is happy."

Trishala (18) was born out of Dutt's first wife Richa Sharma, who died of cancer. She is abroad and told a TV channel "I have nothing to say."

Dutt, whose second marriage to model Rhea Pillai ended in a divorce, is now on bail pending appeal in the Supreme Court in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case.

According to industry sources, Sanjay married Manyata at a five star hotel in Goa before a registrar on February 7 under the Special Marriage Act with a few close friends as witness.

Priya Dutt said she was happy for her brother but claimed she was not aware of the marriage.
